The NICU (Critical Care) Registered Nurse (RN) delivers exceptional nursing care to patients in a timely and caring manner. The role requires strong organization and leadership, patient assessment, care planning, nursing interventions, and a safe therapeutic environment.

• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
• Determine the priority of the patient’s problems and needs
• Implement clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients requiring intensive medical care
• Develop and perform patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
• Ensure a safe and therapeutic environment

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conduct and analyze initial and ongoing patient assessment, create a plan of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Synthesize and prioritize information to take immediate, evidence‑based, patient‑focused action using clinical judgement and inquiry
• Anticipate and respond confidently to rapidly changing patient conditions
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required)

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire; ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
• PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred at hire; required instead of BLS/ACLS for pediatric units; must obtain from an approved source prior to direct patient care)

• 1 year of RN experience (required)
• 6 months of RN experience in a Med/Surg, Critical Care, Step‑down, or Emergency Department unit (preferred)
