Plans, develops, and coordinates in‑house product training programs for field support personnel and customers. Obtains information needed for training, prepares materials, develops course content, determines methodology, and coordinates development of training aids. Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise. Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and keep technical information up to date.
MainResponsibilities
- Shipbuilder Academy
- Facilitate new hire, intermediate, and advanced skills training for X32
- Comply with all procedures, drawings, and guidelines related to X32 training
- Perform time and attendance verification for students
- Manage/inventory material and tools required to facilitate training
- Perform probationary reviews as necessary
- 3rd shift required
- 1st shift flexibility during non‑peak training demand
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years exempt experience; or Master’s degree and 1 year exempt experience
- Equivalent to bachelor’s degree can include: NNS Apprentice School graduate; high school plus 5 years of combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military or other relevant non‑exempt experience; graduation from Navy Nuclear Power School
- Equivalent to exempt years of experience: 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience in addition to education requirement
- Thorough knowledge in fabricating, assembling and installing various components on aircraft carriers and/or submarines
- Effective communication with adult learners and ability to maintain good relationships with staff and students
- Flexibility to work different shifts
- Maintain a high level of professionalism
- Ability to plan, organize and instruct quality trades training
