This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC Programmer located in Newport News, VA. The CNC Programmer will be responsible for reading and interpreting technical drawings, creating CNC programs for machining equipment, and optimizing machining processes for efficiency and precision. This role involves setting up and testing programs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and troubleshooting any issues that arise during production.
Collaboration with engineers, machinists, and other team members will be essential to ensure production goals are met.
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation, including knowledge of G-code and CAD/CAM software.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting and improving machining processes.
- Understanding of machining, tooling, and material handling techniques.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with quality assurance and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Associate’s degree in a related field or relevant experience in CNC programming and machining preferred.
