The Role

Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge. Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed. Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity of employees, and assists in development of training procedures. Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.

Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to all drawings, procedures, etc. Responsible for manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations that have a significant financial impact on the company s performance. Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Specific To This Position

The Facilities Projects Construction Superintendent is responsible for leading and coordinating all field construction supervisor activities for facility capital, modernization, and sustainment projects. This role provides on-site leadership to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans, schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The superintendent serves as the primary field authority, managing contractors, enforcing safety and quality expectations, and coordinating closely with project managers, engineers, and facility stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of Construction Supervisors who serve as Facilities liaisons to production and deckplate stakeholders
  • Supervise all on-site construction activities for multiple facility projects
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, inspectors, and stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, and execute construction schedules and phasing plans
  • Enforce site safety requirements and lead daily safety briefings and inspections
  • Ensure work is performed in compliance with contract documents, codes, and regulations
  • Coordinate subcontractor sequencing, manpower, equipment, and material deliveries
  • Support RFI reviews, lead resolution of field issues, and constructability concerns
  • Monitor quality of workmanship and conduct inspections throughout construction
  • Identify risks, resolve field conflicts, and implement corrective actions
  • Coordinate with facility operations to minimize impacts to ongoing operations
  • Support change management, cost control, and schedule recovery efforts
  • Lead punch list development, inspections, and project closeout activities
  • Provide regular progress reports and field updates to project leadership
Must Have

BS/Apprentice + 8 years construction/production management experience OR Non-BS/Non-Apprentice + 10 years construction/production management experience.

Nice to Have
  • Professional certifications (OSHA, CCM, PMP, or similar)
  • Proven experience managing complex commercial, industrial, or institutional projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and scheduling
  • Thorough understanding of safety and environmental regulations, and quality standards
  • Experience in industrial, heavy production environments, and active construction sites.
  • Familiarity with project management and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project)
  • Strong field leadership and decision-making
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills
  • Proactive problem-solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic environments
  • High attention to detail with a strong safety and quality mindset
