AboutThe Role
Are you passionate about telecommunications and project coordination? Join our team as an IT Implementation Engineer, where you’ll play a key role in supporting Ferguson branch locations by coordinating the provisioning and installation of voice, fax, and alarm services. You’ll work closely with internal teams and third-party vendors to ensure seamless service transitions and reliable connectivity. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys managing multiple projects, and has a strong understanding of voice telecommunications systems.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Coordinate the provisioning and installation of voice, fax, and alarm services for branch locations.
- Place and manage service orders through vendor portals and internal systems.
- Oversee the disconnection of legacy services and ensure smooth transitions to new systems.
- Collaborate with branch associates, project managers, and external vendors to define requirements and timelines.
- Facilitate the installation of POTS lines for alarm systems when applicable.
- Track and document all work activities using enterprise tools such as Service Now, SharePoint, Project, and Planner.
- Identify and troubleshoot installation issues, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.
- Participate in team meetings and communicate project updates or concerns to leadership.
- 3+ years of experience in voice telecommunications or a related field.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with project/task management tools (e.g., Service Now, SharePoint, Project, Planner).
- Understanding of voice systems and telecommunications infrastructure.
- Professionalism and confidence when working with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- This role is telecommunications-focused, with an emphasis on voice services. It does not include responsibilities related to wireless or data routing technologies.
- While similar to a project management role, PMP certification is not required.
- You’ll be expected to work independently and exercise discretion within established procedures.
