OverviewYou will be the first point of contact for guests arriving at Courtyard Newport News Airport. Our standard is to provide clean, friendly, well‑organized, and safe accommodations for all guests. In this role you will support guests through check‑in, check‑out, and all other in‑house requests while maintaining high cleanliness and guest satisfaction scores.
Responsibilities- Greet guests with a smile and use their names whenever possible.
- Complete all guest check‑in/out processes quickly and accurately.
- Use the hotel’s reservation system and point‑of‑sale technology to manage bookings, rates, and promotions.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests with hospitality and urgency.
- Ensure all public and work areas remain spotless, organized, and ready for guests.
- Assist with overnight room turnaround and event support as needed.
- Follow all hotel policies, safety procedures, and uniform standards.
- Record all incoming mail and follow the daily shift checklist.
- Assist with shift‑to‑shift handover and report any operational issues.
- Guest Satisfaction Scores and Intent‑to‑Return ratings.
- Management performance ratings on guest service and cleanliness.
- Compliance with GM/AGM spot checks and leadership walk‑throughs.
- Timeliness of check‑in/out and guest follow‑up.
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer‑service franchise.
- Positive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow established guidelines and procedures.
- Capacity to work in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
- Effective listening, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- Desire to provide exceptional guest service.
- Age 18 years or older.
- Willingness to work a varied schedule, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Reliability on clock‑in/out, breaks, and contact for call‑outs.
- Stand for long periods (3–4 hours at a time).
- Operate computers, phones, and data‑entry devices.
- Lift and transport supplies up to 25 pounds, and move throughout the hotel.
- Perform frequent bending, stooping, and crouching.
- Occasionally lift packages or general office equipment.
