Medical Equipment Delivery Technician

As a Medical Equipment Delivery Technician you will be responsible for ensuring safe delivery, providing setup, and educating patients and caregivers on the use of medical equipment in home or long‑term care settings.
Job Duties- Develop and maintain knowledge of current HME products and services and applicable governmental regulations.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures.
- Educate customers on proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment.
- Complete required documentation following equipment setup, delivery, or pickup.
- Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions. >
- Promote services and products to referral sources.
- Develop and document reimbursement information for equipment, products, and services.
- Assist with quality improvement program implementation.
- Maintain home oxygen systems through scheduled visits.
- Safely drive and maintain company vehicle.
- Perform patient assessment and reassessment for patient care.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
- Report equipment hazards and product incidents.
- Assume on‑call responsibilities during non‑business hours.
- Adhere to procedures for PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Complete compliance training and educational programs.
- Maintain cleaning equipment per Branch Maintenance and Cleaning Guidelines.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Process orders in a timely, accurate manner.
- High School Diploma or equivalency.
- Entry‑level sales, customer service background essential.
- One (1) year of military, delivery driver with sales component, or health‑care technician experience considered related.
- Senior level requires two (2) years of work‑related experience and one (1) year of exact job experience.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license in the state of residence.
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to stretch, bend, stoop and crouch; perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment and supplies.
- Subject to long periods of sitting and driving.
- Work may be stressful; exposure to unsanitary, hazardous, loud, thermal, or infectious conditions.
- May be exposed to high‑crime areas and angry customers.
- Independent driving, travel as needed.
- Mental alertness, effective communication, empathy, courtesy, and respect for privacy.
