Patient Safety Aide; Sitter - Labor Pool

Overview

The Patient Safety Aide reports to the Nurse Manager and works under the direct supervision of the RN taking care of the assigned patient. The job duties include providing safety of this patient at all times by observing patient activities and reporting unsafe behaviors.

Location:

Newport News, Virginia

• Sits in the assigned patient's room to observe the patient and ensure the patient does not harm themselves or others. Specifically, prevent suicide attempts, falls, self-injury, removal of IVs or dressings, or leaving the hospital against medical advice.
• Promotes teamwork by working effectively as a team member and independently when needed. Seeks assistance as needed and keeps the team informed of changes to provide quality care and customer service.
• Provides exceptional customer service to all patients and customers.

• Education:
  
  Program Graduate, Nurse Aide Program (Preferred)
• Experience:
  
  Less than 1 year of experience with patients in acute care or nursing home (Preferred)
• Licenses and
  
  Certifications:
  
  CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC/A SHA) Upon Hire (Required)
