Responsibilities for Licensed Pharmacy Technician- Enter resident and prescription information accurately, verify insurance coverage, and resolve order or authorization issues.
- Communicate with nursing and medical staff to clarify medication orders and address concerns.
- Prepare, package, compound, and label medications following all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with filling, processing, and dispensing medications, including med-cart refills, stat boxes, and emergency supplies.
- Manage inventory by ordering, receiving, shelving products, checking expiration dates, and maintaining proper storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized pharmacy environment and support additional tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required, plus active PTCB certification and Virginia pharmacy technician license.
- Strong knowledge of medication names, abbreviations, calculations, and pharmacy regulations.
- Solid math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, ratios, and percentages.
- Proficient computer and keyboarding skills, with experience using pharmacy information systems.
- Reliable attendance, strong communication, effective prioritization, and ability to work independently and support team efficiency.
- Ability to operate pharmacy equipment such as packing machines, scanners, and printers, and follow proper drug handling and storage standards.
- Must meet physical demands including extended standing/sitting, fine motor tasks, lifting up to 10 pounds, and maintaining clear near and color vision.
