Certified Nursing Assistant Medical 1 (4 West) Unit – Part Time Days

Part Time Days Available 7am-7pm

Works under the supervision of Registered Nurse/LPN and Nurse Manager/Director in personal care of hospital patients and their environment (including those needing special precautions) and performs specified treatments.

Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served in the assigned unit. Provides care in accordance with the departmental policy and procedure and promotes a safe work environment for staff and patients, incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Location:

Newport News, Virginia

• Demonstrate understanding and knowledge of the technology systems necessary for patient data collection.
• Ensure availability of resources (equipment, instruments, and supplies) to support positive patient outcomes and maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
• Follow the plan of care to perform treatments and procedures independently under RN/LPN direction (e.g., enemas, vital signs, ice application, perineal care, specimen collection, etc.).
• Provide consistent, competent, and ethical care within legal standards of practice, maintaining patient privacy and support for their values.
• Accurately complete all required documentation and participate positively in training and support of team members, volunteers, and students.

• 1 year prior experience in an acute health care setting (Preferred)

• Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
• CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
• CPR/BLS Instructor - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
