Join our team at VHS Pharmaceutical Services as a Staff Pharmacist!
We are seeking a Pharmacist to perform all long‑term care pharmacy services for skilled nursing, senior living communities, and discharge medications. This role ensures safe, accurate, and timely medication dispensing, regulatory compliance, and effective collaboration with long‑term care partners.
Key Responsibilities- Verify, dispense, and oversee prescription medications in compliance with physician orders and all applicable federal, state, and Virginia Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Review medication orders for accuracy, dosing, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness; provide clinical recommendations and drug therapy guidance.
- Communicate with nursing staff and long‑term care facilities to support medication management, interventions, and timely delivery.
- Supervise, train, and support pharmacy technicians and delivery personnel to ensure operational efficiency and compliance.
- Manage inventory for controlled and non‑controlled medications, including required audits and documentation.
- Oversee order processing, refills, compounding (including sterile and IV preparations), insurance adjudication, and billing issue resolution.
- Maintain accurate records, protect patient confidentiality and e‑PHI, meet continuing education requirements, and fulfill the physical demands of the role, including standing, lifting, and repetitive tasks.
