Prepare and cook resident meals in accordance with prescribed diet specifications, facility procedures, and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Director.

• Meet physical and sensory requirements and work effectively in the described environment.
• Participate in process‑improvement initiatives to enhance customer experience and workflow.
• Prepare, cook, and portion resident meals according to menu, diet plans, and quality standards.
• Maintain proper cooking temperatures and methods to maximize yield and quality.
• Clean work area and equipment in accordance with sanitation requirements.
• Assess taste, smell, and appearance of foods to ensure compliance with recipes and standards.
• Serve food on time to meet serving schedules and dietary guidelines.
• Check each tray for completeness and accuracy, and monitor portion control to prevent waste.
• Prepare foods for facility personnel, families, visitors, and special occasions as directed.
• Inspect special‑diet trays to confirm the correct diet is served to residents.
• Attend in‑service education programs to meet facility educational requirements.
• Perform other special projects and duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum one year of experience preparing foods in large quantities.
• Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
• Professionalism and confidentiality with the ability to work at all organizational levels.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to multitask with high quality and productivity.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and take independent decisions.
• Flexibility, adaptability, and a collaborative team spirit.
• Ability to handle new tasks without written procedures.

• Push, pull, lift, or move a minimum of 50 pounds up to 3 feet and for a distance of 50 feet.
• Stand or walk more than 8 hours per day.
• Bend or stoop for more than 1 hour at a time.
