Medical Assistant role at Center Well Senior Primary Care in Newport News, VA
This is a full‑time position that focuses on patient care and administrative duties in a fast‑paced primary care setting. The role serves as the first point of contact for patients and collaborates closely with physicians and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities- Provides administrative support and moderate complex operational and customer‑support assignments.
- Discovers, records and documents patient information, vital signs, medication/vaccine administration, phlebotomy, specimen collection, diagnostic screening, sterilization/cleaning, and exam room maintenance.
- Collaborates with clinicians and follows established policies and procedures, making independent decisions within defined parameters.
- Successful completion of Medical Assistant school or training program, or Certified/Registered Medical Assistant, or 5+ years of experience (approval from Provider).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CPR certified.
- Must be screened for TB if selected.
- Certifications in Arizona, Indiana, & South Carolina (if applicable).
- Phlebotomy experience.
- Medication/vaccine administration experience.
- Minimum 1 year of MA experience.
- Knowledge of Value Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, CAHPS/HOS.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (must pass proficiency exam).
Weekly hours: 40
Base pay: $40,000 – $52,300 per year. Pay range may vary with location and experience. The role is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and individual performance.
