Role summary
:
The ideal candidate will have a Welding Engineering background with understanding of welding and material science principles and concepts in shipbuilding. The individual should have a strong technical background in shipbuilding welding processes. This role will lead a team of engineers developing critical Welding Procedures and manage the company’s welder record system. The individual must have strong leadership and communication skills to discuss technical issues with the Navy Customer and present welding recovery information in a timely manner.

The individual should demonstrate strong organizational skills and be able to work on-site to support both internal and external customers.

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design;
Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Full-Time position;
