This position is part of the Newport News Shipbuilding Nuclear Reactor Servicing Engineering team, responsible for providing design and engineering support to service Navy nuclear reactors. Reactor Servicing Engineering offers a challenging, high paced, team environment with opportunity to excel and endless possibilities for professional growth. The candidate selected to fill this position will manage several groups of team members that support all reactor servicing programs.

The Reactor Servicing Manager is responsible for all A1B, A4W, and S9G reactor servicing engineering and design work, overseeing multidisciplinary efforts across electrical, structural, and fluids engineering. The role includes full lifecycle management of reactor servicing equipment and materials, ensuring availability, readiness, and compliance with established technical and programmatic requirements. This position requires experience working with , NNL, and BPMI, as well as proficiency in labor resource planning and earned value management.

The manager should be familiar with Reactor Servicing Core Standards and maintain responsibility for ensuring these standards are consistently met and upheld. Additional requirements include material management expertise related to reactor servicing and the ability to obtain a TLD. The ideal candidate will have a diverse knowledge in the Navy Nuclear Propulsion Program including, but not limited to Naval Reactor Servicing, working knowledge of the Manual for the Control of Refueling and the New Construction Nuclear Reactor Servicing Manual, navy contract scoping, and Earned Value Management process and practices.

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design;
Master's Degree and 6 years of relevant experience;
PhD and 4 years of relevant experience.

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
