Role OverviewResearch, plan, design and develop mechanical products and systems for submarine manufacturing. Lead projects evaluating advanced manufacturing tools and systems to reduce cost and lead time for the SSN(X) program.
Responsibilities- Research and development of advanced manufacturing tools and systems.
- Assess and develop large‑scale tooling systems, including cost‑benefit, risk, and requirements management.
- Lead multidisciplinary project teams and interface with internal and external stakeholders.
- Apply mechanical, thermal hydraulic, or heat transfer principles to production systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and 9 years of exempt experience; or Master’s degree and 7 years of professional experience; or Ph.D. and 4 years of experience.
- Experience managing large engineering projects and interfacing with customers.
- Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience with heavy steel manufacturing.
- Process automation experience.
