OverviewChristopher Newport University’s College of Natural and Behavioral Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in Spring 2026, and beyond.

Candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of graduate coursework in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Information Science or another closely related field. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire. Candidates for hire are required to complete a University sponsored background check.

The Department of Physics, Computer Science & Engineering at Christopher Newport University employs 32 full-time faculty and staff who collaborate across disciplines. We offer six undergraduate majors and a Master’s program. The Department has laboratories supporting teaching and research in cybersecurity, high-speed data acquisition, complex data analysis and simulation, communications, networking, robotics, and software engineering.
