Consider the intellectual challenges of teaching high‑ability students at Christopher Newport University. CNU’s College of Social Sciences is accepting applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, in the following areas for Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and/or Fall 2026.
- Political Thought and Society
- Introduction to American Politics
- Introduction to Comparative and International Politics
- Public Administration and Policy
- State and Local Government
Christopher Newport University is committed to excellence in teaching within a student‑first, liberal arts and sciences environment. Candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate coursework. Official transcripts are required at the time of hire.
Departmental InformationThe Department of Political Science at CNU is composed of 13 faculty members whose research spans American politics, comparative politics, international relations, and political theory. Our 300 majors have produced research that has received national recognition, and many pursue prestigious law and graduate schools or succeed in law, higher education, and public service. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and three minors:
