We Search People is seeking a seasoned, highly skilled Construction Superintendent to lead onsite operations for a large-scale multifamily renovation project with a nationally recognized, industry‑leading multifamily builder. This position requires a hands‑on field leader with extensive renovation experience and a strong ability to drive quality, safety, scheduling, and coordination from start to finish.
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all onsite construction activities for multifamily renovation projects in Newport News, VA.
- Manage daily field operations, schedules, and sequencing to ensure timely project completion.
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance with building codes.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and onsite crews.
- Conduct daily walkthroughs to monitor progress, quality of work, and adherence to plans and specifications.
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Lead onsite meetings, communicate progress, and collaborate closely with project management and leadership teams.
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites at all times.
- 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent, with a strong focus on multifamily renovation projects.
- Proven ability to manage large‑scale or occupied‑unit renovation work.
- Deep knowledge of construction means and methods, renovation sequencing, and trade coordination.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, quality control, and inspection processes.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and hold subcontractors accountable.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to manage fast‑paced projects while meeting national builder standards and expectations.
