Job Description Schedule30 hours – flexible
Job SummaryThe Server is responsible for making the residents' dining experience pleasant and positive; providing the highest quality of customer service, while maintaining dining areas, seating residents, and serving meals.
EssentialJob Duties (Include % of time for each responsibility)
- Takes written food orders and serves meals to residents, family members, and visitors in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner – 100%
- Assists residents with meal/menu selections as necessary or requested – 30%
- Uses proper etiquette and manners while waiting tables courteously and professionally (serving from the left, clearing used dishes between courses, etc.) – 100%
- Reviews residents' dietary needs, as outlined by Supervisor – 5%
- Tracks resident attendance at meals, and provides that information in a timely manner to the appropriate person – 5%
- Ensures that all residents are greeted and seated properly, making extra efforts to integrate new residents and make them feel welcome and comfortable – 30%
- Ensures a clean, sanitary dining area and complies with all policies and procedures regarding the proper handling and serving of food – 100%
- Displays tact and friendliness when dealing with residents, team members, and guests – 100%
- Aids in community marketing effort through positive interactions, dress, and behavior by following all grooming and dress standards – 100%
- Serves, cleans, resets tables, returns dishes to kitchen – 10%
- Completes other duties as assigned or directed by Supervisors or the designee of the Executive Director – 10%
- Cleanly sets up and maintains all dining and food service areas including stocking of condiments, pulling old items, and restocking as necessary (sugars, salt/pepper, ketchup, etc.) – 10%
- Cooperates and assists with other kitchen and dining services to ensure residents have a positive dining experience – 100%
- Reports any safety or equipment issues to Supervisor – 100%
Job Duties
- Assists in breaking down deliveries, putting away stock, washing dishes, as needed
- Delivers meals to resident rooms as required, including tray collection from residents' rooms after meal service
- Exposure to restaurant operations or the ability to learn
- Age over 18 years or have proper work permit and authorization documentation
- Background clearances as required by government regulations
- Complete a health screening and provide negative TB test results (must be within the last 6 months or within 7 days of employment)
