Busser/Server Assistant role at Lawry's Restaurants Inc.

We are looking for a Busser/Server Assistant to join our team. Generally, the Busser/Server Assistant’s primary responsibility is to satisfy our guests by assisting with our meal service. Busser/Server Assistant’s must be thoroughly familiar with Lawry's appearance standards, guest interaction procedures, table duties, side work, safety procedures, and the overall operation of our kitchen and dining room.

• Consistently and sufficiently meet Lawry's standards as an ambassador of the restaurant with guests, including delivering high-quality service and maintaining guest relations.
• Comply with all employment-related policies and procedures, including accurate records of hours worked, breaks, and tip income; communicate shift changes, tardiness, or absence; and uphold a workplace free of harassment and discrimination.
• Assist with introduction of guests, description of food and beverage selections, expedient delivery of meal service, verification of meal satisfaction, and resolution of guest issues; assist with packing to-go items and signaling the end of service.
• Greet and accommodate guests and follow operating procedures for delivery of dining and entertainment experience, including serving and refilling beverages and plates.
• Thank guests and invite them to return.
• Pre-bus tables and bus tables as parties leave; unload dishes and glassware in the appropriate area; reset tables for new parties and large/private events.
• Restock side stations and manage linen bags; handle multiple servers and stations without compromising service quality.
• Communicate effectively in English with co-workers and guests; write orders and requests as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Lawry's Restaurants, including history, locations, service hours, and diner benefits; assist guests with menu items and wine selections using informed descriptions and selling techniques.
• Demonstrate teamwork and cooperation with co-workers, management, vendors and suppliers; operate POS and TMX systems; perform basic math calculations.
• Maintain a clean uniform and attire; be prepared to work all scheduled shifts and comply with management-approved changes.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including cleaning dining room, bar, and restaurant areas or administrative projects.
• Attend mandatory meetings and trainings.

• Shows confidence, energy, and enthusiasm with a professional, clean appearance and a friendly demeanor.
• Legal age to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Satisfactory physical and mental health to perform job requirements and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation and within company policy.
• Able to stand and walk for up to eight hours, carry up to 100 lbs, and exert up to 150 lbs of force; sustain repetitive motions.
• Available to work all scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays, within scheduling and seniority systems.
• Capable of multi-tasking, leading, and communicating in English; able to express ideas clearly.
• Reliable transportation.

• At least one year of restaurant service experience in a high-volume establishment is required.

• Current Local/State Food Handler’s Training Certifications as required
• Current Local/State Alcohol Beverage Service Training Certifications as required

Computer

Skills:

Basic familiarity with computers, POS systems, calculators, and touch screens.

Education:

High school diploma or GED preferred. Some college or culinary education beneficial.

Salary Range: $16.50-$17/hour
