Ploutos is a platform where AI researchers, engineers, and students come together around live technical talks, research demos, and academic seminars. Speakers from top universities and research labs use Ploutos to share their work with highly engaged technical audiences.
We work closely with the academic community and keep our events accessible by partnering with companies that want to support learning, research, and early technical talent.
The RoleWe’re looking for a Sponsor ships & Community Partnerships Lead to own and grow our sponsor relationships.
This role is focused on:
- identifying the right companies
- starting warm, thoughtful conversations
- and closing sponsor ships for Ploutos streams and seminar series
This is not a traditional sales role. It’s relationship-driven, context-aware, and rooted in community and education.
What You’ll Do- Identify and reach out to potential sponsors (Dev Rel, University Recruiting, Academic Partnerships, Research orgs)
- Build relationships with teams at AI companies and startups (Developer Relations, University Recruiting, Research Partnerships, Engineering Leadership)
- Manage outreach via Linked In, email, and warm introductions
- Represent Ploutos in sponsor conversations with clarity and credibility
- Close sponsor ships for individual talks and recurring series
- Coordinate simple logistics (logo, acknowledgment, confirmation)
- Build long-term relationships with repeat sponsors
- Provide feedback on what resonates with sponsors and why
- Experience with partnerships, sponsor ships, community, Dev Rel, or conference/event sales
- Comfort talking to senior stakeholders (Directors, Heads of Dev Rel, Recruiting leads)
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Good judgment, taste, and respect for academic contexts
- Familiarity with the AI / developer / research ecosystem, or strong interest in it
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity
- Bonus: experience with developer communities, academia, or technical audiences
- experience with CRMs or complex pipelines
- to hit spammy outreach quotas
- Commission-based initially (strong upside per closed deal)
- Clear path to a larger role as sponsorship revenue becomes recurring
- Opportunity to shape a core revenue function from the ground up
