About the Role
PKEC is seeking a junior litigation attorney with 3-7 years of litigation experience for its construction litigation practice. Our firm regularly tries and arbitrates cases, offering attorneys opportunities to participate in trial preparation, actual trials, arbitrations, and hearings.
The associate will join our growing Southern California group, in our Newport Beach location, working as part of a team of experienced trial attorneys from preeminent law firms. You'll provide counsel and strategy to construction and engineering clients on all issues arising during the lifecycle of public and private construction projects, including contract review and litigation.
QualificationsRequired:
- 3+ years of litigation experience
- Construction, general commercial, and/or business contract litigation experience
- Strong research, writing, and speaking skills
- Desire to actively litigate cases
Preferred:
- Professional or academic background in engineering, architecture, or construction
- Court appearances
- Preparing and responding to discovery
- Preparing for, taking, and defending depositions
- Drafting and arguing motions
- Preparing for and participating in mediations, trials, and arbitrations

- Salary commensurate with experience $175,000 – $235,000
