CBIZ is partnering with a mid-size law firm in the search for a TEMPORARY Litigation Assistant for their Newport Beach office. The position is expected to last until at least January 2026 and is fully in office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of litigation assistant experience and strong technical skills.
Duties- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda.
- File court documents in state and federal court.
- Identify and submit legal documents for docketing, court and case deadlines using firm software.
- Management of ongoing assigned court and case deadlines.
- Assist attorneys with reviewing, organizing, and summarizing case materials, mail, and other case related documents.
- 5+ years of experience working in a complex mid-size to large civil litigation defense practice.
- Experience e-filing on various platforms and knowledge of Federal and State rules.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications.
- Keep abreast of court rules and procedures and understand legal terminology.
- The successful candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and maintain a positive attitude and calm demeanor.
The hourly rate for this role will be $25-$35/hour, DOE.
MUST BE ABLE TO PHYSICALLY WORK IN OFFICE IN NEWPORT BEACH 5 DAYS PER WEEK AND BE ABLE TO COMMIT UNTIL JANUARY 2026.
