Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct an immediate search for a Litigation Paralegal for our client, a highly regarded trial firm in Newport Beach, California
! This is a wonderful full-time, on-site, contract-to-hire position with a comprehensive benefits package.
- Manage and maintain all litigation-related deadlines, including hearings, depositions, mediations, expert disclosures, and trial dates. Promptly calendar new deadlines upon receipt and provide written confirmation to the assigned attorney.
- Maintain well-organized digital and physical case files in accordance with firm protocols and naming conventions. Ensure pleadings, correspondence, discovery materials, exhibits, deposition transcripts, and trial documents are properly filed and readily accessible.
- Coordinate deposition scheduling with attorneys, witnesses, vendors, and interpreters. Prepare and serve deposition notices and subpoenas, confirm logistics, and calendar all preparation sessions and related deadlines.
- Serve as a professional point of contact for clients regarding scheduling, case updates, and preparation for depositions, mediations, and trial. Maintain timely, clear, and courteous communication standards.
- Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including assembling trial binders, exhibit and witness lists, jury instructions, and subpoenas. Coordinate trial logistics, vendor communication, and delivery of trial materials.
- Liaise with process servers, court reporters, record retrieval services, and court clerks. Ensure all filings and service are completed accurately, documented properly, and compliant with court requirements.
- Prepare and submit electronic filings through court systems, draft proofs of service, maintain service logs, and file conformed copies in case management systems.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of California civil litigation experience (personal injury experience strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of civil procedure, litigation deadlines, and trial preparation processes
- Experience supporting trial preparation and trial proceedings
- Experience preparing deposition notices, subpoenas, and exhibit packets
- Familiarity with Case Peer
This role offers a competitive pay rate of $40-$43/hour plus a comprehensive benefits package!
