Overview
Job Type: Full-Time, Onsite, Direct Hire
Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 annually DOE. Benefits may include Paid Time Off, Sick Leave, Holidays, Healthcare, Dental and Vision Coverage, and 401(k).
LHH is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Litigation Assistant to join a well‑established litigation defense firm in Newport Beach, CA. This is a direct‑hire opportunity for a professional with at least 3+ years of litigation support experience, including substantial federal court and litigation defense exposure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong knowledge of both federal and state procedures, excellent organizational abilities, and the confidence to communicate effectively with attorneys and clients in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive case management support to attorneys.
- Prepare and format a wide range of legal documents (pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda).
- File documents in both state and federal courts, with required proficiency in federal e‑filing systems (CM/ECF).
- Identify documents for docketing and manage all court and case deadlines using firm software.
- Track, monitor, and update ongoing deadlines and court schedules.
- Review, organize, and summarize case documents, discovery, correspondence, and related materials.
- Assist in developing charts, spreadsheets, case timelines, and matrices.
- Support preparation of litigation defense materials including privilege logs, mediation binders, and trial notebooks.
- Proofread and revise documents with a high level of accuracy.
- Maintain detailed and accurate billable time records.
- Utilize document management platforms, including Microsoft Office Suite and Relativity.
- Perform additional administrative and litigation‑related tasks as assigned.
- Undergraduate degree and/or ABA‑approved paralegal certificate preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of litigation experience, specifically supporting defense-side practices.
- Hands‑on experience with federal court filings, procedures, and rules.
- Proficiency in both state and federal e‑filing processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent proofreading and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and support multiple attorneys.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, and Net Docs.
- Ability to stay current with court rules, timelines, and procedural changes.
