SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Location;
Newport Beach, CA

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a contract Senior Project Manager, you'll play a key role in supporting projects related to technology, data, strategy, people and processes. You will be responsible for overseeing the successful planning, execution and delivery of projects. This role involves managing cross functional teams, coordinating resources, and ensuring projects align with business goals and expected value delivery.

We would like to see more of:
  • Candidates who can manage a project while also being a strategic thought partner to key stakeholders and underlying delivery team(s), while having solid foundational PM skills.
  • Demonstrated consultative mindset, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to identify solutions, evaluate alternatives and make sound decisions.
  • We are looking for agents of change; someone who can look at our PMO operation and how we work critically and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Be able to identify technical activities, connect the dots, identify gaps, and drive output to achieve project goals; someone who can ask poignant questions of developers and engineers.
  • While this is a contract role, we want to see candidates who can help drive change within the organization and share experiences with others to help the entire team grow by coaching others.
  • Position 1
    • Lead delivery of implementing an enterprise-wide portfolio and capacity management platform, driving alignment between tooling, governance, and day to day execution practices.
    • Translating strategy into scalable processes that work across diverse teams and maturity levels is critical.
  • Position 2
    • While this role uses a general Project Manager title, the position operates in the capacity of Program / Product type leadership (owning outcomes, cross team alignment, and strategic delivery—not task coordination).
    • The individual must be well versed in Agile methodologies and comfortable working in Azure Dev Ops (ADO), which is used exclusively to plan, track, and communicate work.
  • Translate strategy and priorities into a sequenced delivery plan with clear ownership, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
  • Align delivery across all Engineering Enablement (EE) teams by understanding deliverables, managing dependencies, and driving coordinated execution.
  • Own decision making and prioritization—driving decisions to closure and pushing back on work that does not align to goals, timelines, or outcomes.
  • Make delivery health visible by clearly communicating progress, risks, dependencies, and trade offs in program forums, including MBRs and QBRs.
  • Establish and drive adoption of consistent work management standards across EE teams (e.g., tagging strategies, goal alignment, feature/epic structure).
  • Own program success end to end, including roadmap integrity, budget health, and trust based partnership with EE leadership and team leads.
We would like to see less of:
  • Candidates with solid PM skills, but not much else. We want more than someone who can manage a project. That is a good skill to have but the finding is that these candidates aren't well rounded enough to be able to provide a different perspective for a project and find the gaps.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead delivery of technology projects of varying scope and complexity, aligning delivery approach, tools, and governance to business objectives. Apply strategic thinking to translate priorities into executable plans, balancing near term delivery needs with longer term technology and operating model considerations across teams with different levels of maturity.
  • Orchestrate delivery across multiple internal teams and external vendors. Ability to establish clear ownership, decision rights, and escalation paths.
  • Own core PMO delivery disciplines, including scope, integrated plans, resourcing needs, schedule, budget, and delivery artifacts, ensuring initiatives are executed with rigor and transparency. Maintain roadmaps, track progress, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure delivery remains aligned to priorities, commitments, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Drive successful delivery through strong, team, stakeholders, and executive leadership,…
