- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California

Certification Details
- Functions as the clinical resource for patients and staff for ostomy, continence disorders, acute and chronic wound and skin breakdown, and fistulae.
- Provides direct wound and ostomy care in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
- Provides patient/family teaching and instruction of wound and ostomy management both pre and post-operatively.
- Assists the healthcare team in the evaluation of skin and wound products and equipment.
- Provides educational programs, in-services, and bedside teaching for the nursing staff.
- Stays up-to-date with skin care practices and shares advances in wound and skin care assessments, evaluations, treatments, and prevention measures.
- Assesses all patients with a pressure injury staged at Three (3) or above.
- Sees all patients that have developed a hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) and meets appropriate reporting requirements.
- Assesses overall hospital needs and practices to eliminate HAPIs.
Job Details
- A minimum of Four (4) years of clinical experience.
- Demonstrates initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
- Exhibits knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
- Exemplifies strong job knowledge, patient counseling, and business acumen.
- Maintains trust and accountability in professional relationships.
- Demonstrates ability to handle technology and equipment relevant to wound and ostomy care.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California - Current and in good standing.
- Wound and Ostomy Certification.
