Position: Travel Wound Ostomy Nurse - $3,239 per week

    Certification Details

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
  • Wound and Ostomy Certification

    Job Details

  • Functions as the clinical resource for patients and staff for ostomy, continence disorders, acute and chronic wound and skin breakdown, and fistulae.
  • Provides direct wound and ostomy care in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
  • Provides patient/family teaching and instruction of wound and ostomy management both pre and post-operatively.
  • Assists the healthcare team in the evaluation of skin and wound products and equipment.
  • Provides educational programs, in-services, and bedside teaching for the nursing staff.
  • Stays up-to-date with skin care practices and shares advances in wound and skin care assessments, evaluations, treatments, and prevention measures.
  • Assesses all patients with a pressure injury staged at Three (3) or above.
  • Sees all patients that have developed a hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) and meets appropriate reporting requirements.
  • Assesses overall hospital needs and practices to eliminate HAPIs.

    Job Requirements

  • A minimum of Four (4) years of clinical experience.
  • Demonstrates initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exhibits knowledge of infection control and patient safety protocols.
  • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Exemplifies strong job knowledge, patient counseling, and business acumen.
  • Maintains trust and accountability in professional relationships.
  • Demonstrates ability to handle technology and equipment relevant to wound and ostomy care.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California - Current and in good standing.
  • Wound and Ostomy Certification.

    Two (2) years of experience in wound and ostomy care.
