Job Description Summary

The Asset Management Associate drives the execution, development and implementation of strategies and programs that enhance financial and operational performance by synthesizing operational results and market data to identify opportunities and drive performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct financial analysis of multifamily development assets, including detailed pro‑forma and Excel‑based financial models.
  • Gather, analyze and investigate market data, prepare narratives, reports and market summaries that provide insights on property and market trends.
  • Collaborate on new investment committee memos, financing or disposition recommendations, and updates on existing development assets.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with local market brokers, institutional and equity partners, lenders, regional property management and other key stakeholders.
  • Participate in developing documentation and recommendations on key findings that may affect the return and financial performance of the asset(s).
  • Organize and/or lead the disposition process, including broker coordination and due diligence, valuation analysis, and documentation of recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on sales transactions and product deliveries, establish timelines and deadlines, and address issues that could affect closing.
  • Work with internal teams and external parties to implement process improvements that increase revenue, reduce operating expenses and promote overall asset performance.
  • Provide support to key business leaders by fielding questions, requests and gathering data.
  • Regularly monitor, report and proactively solve problems related to the asset(s).
  • Coordinate with consultants related to real‑estate tax protests.
  • Assist in preparing annual business plans, including operating budgets, market analysis, real‑estate tax forecasts and disposition strategy.
  • Complete financial administrative reports and analyses, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Lead special projects such as bi‑annual portfolio revaluations and ad‑hoc reporting requests.
  • Provide peer training for analysts on modeling and group reporting requirements.
  • Complete cash‑needs and distribution analyses as needed.
Basic Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, real estate economics or a related field from an accredited institution (preferred).
  • Two or more years of experience in real‑estate finance.
  • Attention to detail and strong creative problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial modelling.
  • Strong organizational, time‑management and project‑management skills to track multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑management skills to cultivate productive relationships with brokers, institutional and equity partners, owners, lenders and other clients.
  • Professional presentation and public speaking abilities.
Additional Compensation
  • Corporate Positions:
    Eligible to participate in quarterly or annual bonus programs based on individual and company performance.
  • On‑site Property Positions:
    Eligible to participate in weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus programs.
