Physician Assistant​/Psychiatry​/California​/Locum Tenens​/Physician Assistant - Certified

We?re seeking a compassionate and clinically skilled Physician Assistant with experience or strong interest in psychiatric and behavioral health care
. This role is ideal for a provider who values a collaborative, multidisciplinary treatment environment and wants to make a meaningful impact on patients? mental health and overall well-being.

You?ll work closely with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and therapists to support a range of mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, and related behavioral health concerns.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits under physician supervision.
• Diagnose and manage mental health conditions in alignment with current best practices and evidence-based guidelines.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications (within scope and under supervision).
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment as needed, and provide patient education.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in the EHR system.
• Participate in care coordination and interdisciplinary case consultations.

Qualifications

• Current and valid California PA license in good standing.
• DEA license (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Psychiatric or behavioral health experience preferred (outpatient setting a plus).
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trust with patients.
• Team-oriented, proactive, and passionate about advancing mental health care.
