Position Summary

The Dispatcher serves as the central communication hub for transportation and logistics operations. This role coordinates and communicates with mobile personnel—including drivers, field crews, and emergency responders—to ensure efficient scheduling, routing, and real‑time operational adjustments. The Dispatcher is responsible for maintaining timely service, resolving issues as they arise, and ensuring seamless communication between field units, customers, and supervisors in a fast‑paced environment.

• Communication Hub
  • Receive emergency and non‑emergency calls via phone, radio, email, or dispatch systems.
  • Relay accurate and timely information to drivers and field personnel.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between field staff, customers, and management.
• Scheduling & Routing
  • Plan and assign efficient routes and schedules for vehicles and personnel.
  • Make real‑time adjustments due to traffic, weather conditions, equipment issues, or urgent service requests.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet service and delivery deadlines.
• Monitoring & Coordination
  • Track vehicle and personnel locations using GPS and dispatch software.
  • Monitor job progress and ensure adherence to schedules and company protocols.
  • Provide ongoing support to field teams throughout shifts.
• Problem Solving
  • Address service disruptions, delays, and conflicts quickly and professionally.
  • Escalate issues when necessary and coordinate solutions with supervisors.
  • Maintain composure and accuracy in high‑pressure or time‑sensitive situations.
• Record Keeping & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate logs, reports, and databases related to calls, deliveries, routes, and operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and documentation standards.

• Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of dispatch experience in transportation or logistics.
• Education
  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • 2–4‑year degree, certification, or equivalent professional experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

• Communication Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to convey clear, concise instructions.
• Problem‑Solving Ability
  • Quick decision‑making skills with the ability to resolve issues under pressure.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple communication channels simultaneously (radio, phone, computer).
