Job Description Summary
Adhere to and practice the company’s service standards with each customer. Meet both sales and work goals as directed by store management, while following the Policies and Procedures set by the Company. Lead other team members by setting an example in the accuracy and completeness of your work. Work together to present the store, its merchandise, and yourselves to the customer in the best possible light.
Control cash and maintain accuracy of sales transactions. Process all sales and POS terminal transactions according to policy and procedure, maintaining strict control of all monies and sales documentation.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Create an excellent shopping experience for customers through awareness and adherence to company service standards.
Maintain a positive attitude, willingness to serve, and well-informed approach.
Assist with sales and customer inquiries.
Promote company rewards programs and other business initiatives. - Stay informed about current sales promotions.
- Maintain merchandise presentation.
Ensure stock is well-arranged and properly merchandised.
Keep all areas within the store clean and organized. - Develop and maintain necessary product knowledge and fitting skills.
- Be aware of Loss Prevention concerns involving customers and staff.
- Participate in physical inventories, assist with shipping and receiving merchandise, and help with merchandise placement on the sales floor as needed.
- When performing cashier functions, process all sales in accordance with existing policies and procedures. Ensure shoes are checked for mates.
- Process all sales and POS transactions following policy and procedure.
Principal Working Relationships
Customers, Sales Associates, Store Management, and District/Regional Managers.
Key Qualifications
Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with external contacts (primarily customers) and all levels of employees.
Basic communication, organization, and math skills.
Experience in retail sales, preferably in specialty retail or footwear.
Basic knowledge of policies and procedures.
Basic visual merchandising skills and understanding of Store Presentation Standards.
