Prescott Partners has been retained by a well established construction company looking to hire a Controller to be a part of a growing Earthworks & Utilities company located in the Newnan Georgia area. Prior industry experience is required, and this reports directly into the President of the company. This is a great opportunity to have high visibility in the company with room for advancement.
Management of personnel for AR/AP and HR is included.
Oversee all financial operations including AP/AR, job cost accounting, payroll and cash flow management as follows.
- Develop and maintain the system of internal accounting controls and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and analysis
- Work-In-Progress reporting & General Ledger
- Produce monthly financial statements
- Coordinate quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits and tax returns
- Maintain state registrations, business and tax licenses, etc.
- Oversee the timely and accurate preparation accounts receivable progress billings based upon specific contract terms.
- Review accounts receivable, aging reports for collections.
- Supervise the payment process to vendors and subcontractors and confirm lien waivers are properly collected.
- Monitor daily cash balances to ensure requirements are met.
- Prepare, review and monitor the preparation of the weekly payroll
- Preparation and review of monthly financial statements
- Oversee the monthly job cost report process with the President and project managers for use in creating and updating contract schedules and updated work in progress reports for internal and external use.
- Responsible for the review and procurement of the business and health insurance programs for all entities
- Maintenance of insurance/risk protection program
- Assist in the development, implementation and administration of 401(k) plan and other employee benefits.
- Participate in the on-going strategic planning with the leadership team. Perform due diligence and create projections with different scenarios on growth opportunities as needed.
- Prepare the annual financial budget and update the forecasts on a quarterly basis.
- Proficiency with Sage Accounting software 100 Contractor required
- Proficiency with ADP for Payroll essential
- Proficiency with Excel and Microsoft office required
- 5+ Years Controller experience in the Construction industry
- Decision making along with strong analytical skills
- Multi-tasking and ability to handle complex tasks simultaneously
- Project/task follow-up
- Experience dealing with banks and financial institutions
- Work with Senior Management to ensure financial directives are followed
- Strong knowledge of both Sage Accounting Systems and Excel are required
