We are growing — and we’re looking for an experienced Estimator who understands what it takes to price large, high-performance steel coating and fireproofing projects with precision and confidence.
The RoleWe are seeking an Estimator who can confidently analyze drawings and specifications, develop accurate and competitive pricing, and support our operations team with clear, well-built scopes.
You will be responsible for:
- Reviewing structural steel drawings and project specifications
- Performing detailed quantity takeoffs
- Building comprehensive cost estimates for blasting, coatings, fireproofing, handling, and transport
- Evaluating labor, material, equipment, and production factors
- Identifying risks, exclusions, and scope gaps
- Collaborating with operations, project management, and leadership to align pricing with production realities
- Preparing clear, professional bid proposals
- Supporting handoff to operations upon award
This role directly impacts profitability, workload forecasting, and long-term client relationships.
Qualifications- 5–10 years of estimating experience in structural steel, industrial coatings, fireproofing, or related construction/manufacturing fields
- Strong understanding of surface preparation, coatings systems, and fireproofing applications
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and specifications with confidence
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and estimating software
- Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines
- Strong communication skills — able to ask the right questions and clarify scope
- Understanding of production-based environments and job costing
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
