Position Title: System Nurse Educator - 190 Day Calendar
Salary: RN Nurse Payscale at 190 days (starting pay $23.93 per hour)
Job DescriptionTo educate, motivate and provide leadership and support, incorporating evidence based practices, to ensure that all school nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel are appropriately trained to provide optimum health services for all students. Promote health education and preventive health practices for students, staff and parents. Serve as a mentor, role model and preceptor and collaborate in the professional development of staff nurses.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Ensure appropriate training is provided for students with health problems as needed and/or appropriate.
- Coordinate the training of First Aid/CPR/First Responders for school and staff.
- Supervise Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses as needed and under the direction of the Health Services Coordinator.
- Coordinate on the job training for new school nurses, provides consultation to enhance continuing education, professional development opportunities and mentorship opportunities.
- Provide updates on school health issues as directed.
- Coordinate staffing of full time employees and substitute nurses as directed.
- Collect information from other school nurses as required for reports and submit.
- Identify and report student health needs.
- Participate in evaluation through collection and review of data as directed.
- Coordinate in-service training for school nurses as directed.
- Adhere to Code of Ethics for Educators in Georgia.
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Complete assignments and requirements on time and in compliance with directions.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and appropriate records and file reports promptly.
- Comply with all school board policies and administrative rules.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships and ensure effective and timely written and oral communication with parents, staff, and other school district personnel.

Required Education, Certification, Training And Experience- Registered Nurse or higher: concentration in Parent Child Health or Public Health. BSN degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience as a School Nurse OR Nurse Educator preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the State of Georgia.
- Current CPR certification. BLS minimum.
