PositionDescription
As Production Manager, you will lead daily operations within a high-volume, service-focused Hub, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production. You’ll be responsible for managing throughput, quality, and team performance in a high SKU, low automation environment. This role requires strong leadership, operational discipline, and a commitment to continuous improvement. You will collaborate cross-functionally to resolve constraints, drive cost-effective solutions, and foster a culture aligned with Milwaukee Tool’s core values.
WhatYou Will Do
- Play a key role in launching the Hub, ensuring alignment with project timelines, deliverables, and strategic goals, while coordinating closely with corporate leadership and cross-functional teams.
- On-going management of the Hub, driving operational excellence, team performance, and continuous improvement, while maintaining daily production targets.
- Drive future growth initiatives, expanding plant capabilities and workforce.
- Lead and develop the production workforce, ensuring proper day-to-day leadership and long-term team growth.
- Understand demand, capacity, and constraints to deliver required throughput and customer turn times.
- Drive production planning and reviews across daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cycles.
- Build and maintain a staffing plan with depth and cross-training to support rapid growth.
- Set, monitor, and achieve KPIs aligned with operational goals.
- Collaborate with HR and Training to hire, onboard, and upskill employees.
- Work urgently with support functions (Inventory, Engineering, Quality, HR) to resolve constraints impacting throughput, cost, or customer experience.
- Implement quality control processes to detect and prevent issues before customer delivery.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions in partnership with Quality and Engineering.
- Establish robust process audits to ensure consistent task execution and compliance.
- Foster an employee-driven safety culture and integrate safety into the plant’s 5S regimen.
- Balance production needs with cost-effective remediation strategies, including tool replacements.
- Identify and execute efficiency and cost-saving initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and corporate teams to share best practices across the Service organization.
- Utilize Milwaukee Tool’s operating systems (Microsoft AX and High Jump) to manage production and resolve issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing facility that supports safety, productivity, and morale.
