We are currently recruiting for a dual position of Assistant Educator and Temporary
Accommodation Support Facilitator to join our Team in Newmarket
at the following location(s):
Rogers PS, Canadian Martyrs CES & St. John Chrysostom CES.

This position is to fill a new vacancy.

Pay Range: $19.55 - $23.08

Temporary Accommodation Support Facilitator: $19.55/hour

Assistant Educator $20.20 - $23.08/hour (includes General Operating Grant) plus Wage Enhancement Grant (up to $2.00/hr) and Split Shift Premium ($2.00/hr).

Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program.

Position Type & Required Availability:

  • Casual Supply status (variable hours): Candidates must be available to work a minimum of 5 assigned shifts every month.

Position Summary:

To assist the teachers in program delivery ensuring operational requirements are met in compliance with all internal and external guidelines, policies and procedures. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate, play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. The overarching goal is to enhance the classroom ratio and provide an inclusive environment through ongoing collaboration and communication.

Supports the organization’s vision, mission, and guiding values. This is a fully in-centre position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Applies current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement.

  • Assists with program charts, daily logs, reports and administration tasks as required.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Provides a range of care including assisting with meals/snacks, toileting, diapering, dressing, etc.
  • Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children.
  • Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required.
  • Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.
  • Provides guidance to students and volunteers as needed.
  • Works to support and maintain an inclusive environment.
  • Accepts direction from other staff members in order to best support the program.
