Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Lead to support daily AP operations in a high-volume, project-driven construction environment.

This is a senior-level role for someone who understands construction payables, job cost coding, holdbacks, and vendor management. You will act as the go-to person within the AP function, supporting junior team members and ensuring invoices are processed accurately and efficiently.

• Process high-volume subcontractor and supplier invoices
• Ensure accurate job cost and general ledger coding
• Track and manage holdbacks and lien documentation
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Support AP aging reviews and payment preparation
• Assist with month-end accruals and reconciliations
• Work closely with Project Managers on invoice approvals
• Provide guidance and day-to-day support to junior AP staff
• Identify opportunities to streamline AP workflows and improve efficiency

• 4+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Construction or project-based accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of job costing
• Experience working with subcontractor payables and holdbacks
• Advanced Excel skills
• Highly organized with strong follow-up discipline
• Comfortable working fully on-site in Newmarket
