• Work from drawings, sketches, computer-generated information and verbal instructions to plan the polishing, finishing or re-work operation to be performed.
• Follow standard finishing applications to achieve dimensional integrity and required finish characteristics.
• Understand material characteristics to determine the appropriate wheel, grit, compound or abrasive texture to use to achieve the desired finish and dimension.
• Perform precise chamfering operations on parts without damaging other critical dimensions.
• Work from quality review and corrective work documents to repair or rework parts.
• Use precision measuring instruments to gauge various critical dimensions and tolerance limits according to established parameters or blueprint requirements.
• Perform temporary part marking and in-process transfer marking using Vibro Engraving, Electro-chemical Etch, or Ink Stamp methods with suitable legibility for drawing or customer specifications.
• Actively participate in Lean production and Continuous Improvement projects to drive efficiency.
• Work safely at all times and participate in safety initiatives by raising concerns and helping develop corrective actions.
• Refer difficulties to a leader or supervisor as appropriate.
• May be assigned additional tasks within the scope and skill level of this job description to support department objectives and develop skills.
