Our client is currently seeking a process engineer to focus on innovation, expert technology, service and product leadership that will provide critical solutions for businesses around the globe to perform at optimal levels. - Business Unit
Description:
The client is a leading manufacturer of flight safety and close tolerance parts and assemblies for both commercial and military markets. They supply critical safety parts and structural components for both rotary and fixed wing aircraft. Their division provides design and engineering capabilities for metal forming machines, shaping tools and related equipment. - Job Summary Accountability:
Analyze operations and develop procedures and processes to be used by production, overhaul, repair, test, and quality groups. - Under general guidance of supervisor, perform engineering duties requiring judgment and application of standard engineering principles and practices. Pursue initiatives to improve group effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Typical duties include preparing specifications, reviewing and analyzing engineering data, consulting with other engineering groups to ensure criteria are suitable for applications, and recommending revisions.
- Manage New Product Introduction (NPI) for specific product, including process creation/development through delivery.
- Participate in investigating technical problems and establishing procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.
- Assist shop floor associates, Quality Engineers, Cell Associates, and others in shop floor fabrication matters. Experience with Frozen Planning and manufacturing flight-critical components is a plus.
- Contribute to EH&S practices and procedures improvements; analyze engineering data and reports; perform tasks involving analysis, design, development, test, installation and service from instructions, drawings, proposals, and specifications.
- Complexity of Tasks:
Strong verbal and written communication skills with advanced interpersonal abilities. Strong project management skills and the ability to collaborate across departments to achieve project goals. Ability to use available resources to support customer needs on national and international levels. - Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field or a special combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated accomplishments.
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing; aerospace experience preferred.
- Experience with milling, turning, and grinding; CNC programming experience a plus (NX 7.5).
- Experience with NPI development and implementation.
- Experience working with various metals (aluminum, titanium, etc.).
- Experience with AutoCAD;
Key Creator is a must. Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
