Essential Job Functions
  • Includes para educator responsibilities plus:
  • Prepare for data collection.
  • Implement continuous measurement procedures.
  • Implement discontinuous measurement procedures.
  • Implement permanent product recording procedures.
  • Enter data and update graphs.
  • Describe the behavior and environment in observable and measurable terms.
  • Conduct preference assessments.
  • Assist with individualized assessment procedures.
  • Assist with functional assessment procedures.
  • Identify the essential components of a written skill acquisition plan.
  • Prepare for the session as required by the skill acquisition plan.
  • Use contingencies of reinforcement.
  • Implement discrete-trial teaching procedures.
  • Implement naturalistic teaching procedures.
  • Implement task analyzed chaining procedures.
  • Implement discrimination training.
  • Implement stimulus control transfer procedures.
  • Implement stimulus fading procedures.
  • Implement prompt and prompt fading procedures.
  • Implement generalization and maintenance procedures.
  • Assist with the training of stakeholders.
  • Identify the essential components of a written behavior reduction plan.
  • Describe common functions of behavior.
  • Implement interventions based on antecedent modification.
  • Implement differential reinforcement procedures.
  • Implement extinction procedures.
  • Implement crisis/emergency procedures according to protocol.
  • Report other variables that might affect the client.
  • Generate objective session notes by describing what occurred during sessions.
  • Effectively communicate with supervisor.
Additional Job Functions
  • May perform additional tasks and duties as requested.
Required Knowledge,

Skills And Abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • General knowledge of student disabilities.
  • Ability to independently, effectively deal with student behaviors.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop and follow schedules.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with staff, students, supervisors and the general public.
Physical And Mental Effort And Environmental Conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, squat, stretch, kneel, push and pull.
  • Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
  • Ability to assist in physical management and personal hygiene of students.
  • Ability to stand for extended period of time.
  • Ability to hear normal sounds with some background noise and to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption.
  • Ability to attend to task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time.
  • Ability to remember multiple task/assignments given to self and others over long periods of time.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • Certified Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT®)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree; or
  • Coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development or related fields
