Overview
GI Group is recruiting multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers for an internationally known client in Newcastle (NE37). The client offers courier services worldwide, focusing on the express road‑based market.
Driver ShiftsWe are looking for Class 1 Drivers to work afternoon shifts on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Monday to Friday (average 12‑hour shift)
- Weekend work available and optional
- Monday to Friday: £20.34 per hour* (PAYE, includes advanced holiday pay)
- Saturday: £26.35 per hour*
- Sunday: £29.41 per hour*
* Pay rates include advanced holiday pay.
Driver Duties- Conduct vehicle checks
- Trunking work to depots
- Deliver safely to customers throughout the UK
- Prioritise workload to meet time commitments
- Presentable appearance, eye for detail, positive attitude
- No more than 6 penalty points; no DD/IN/DR/DN/TT endorsement codes
- Valid, in‑date tachograph & CPC
- Good customer service skills
- At least 12 months experience as a Class 1 Driver
