As Head of Rail Partnerships
, you’ll lead strategic engagement with rail operators, government bodies, and key stakeholders to champion the North East’s rail priorities. You’ll influence policy, secure investment, and develop partnerships that deliver better services, improve connectivity, and a greener future for our region.
- Shape and deliver the North East’s rail vision in line with regional transport objectives.
- Build strong relationships with rail industry partners, government departments, and local authorities.
- Sponsor rail projects on behalf of the North East Rail Partnerships Board.
- Lead negotiations and collaborations to secure funding and service improvements.
- Represent the region at national forums, ensuring our voice is heard on key rail issues.
- Drive innovation and sustainability in rail transport planning and delivery.
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Strategic and visionary – able to see the big picture and influence at the highest level.
- Collaborative and persuasive – skilled at building partnerships and driving consensus.
- Experienced in rail or transport policy – with a strong understanding of the industry and its challenges.
- Passionate about the North East – committed to improving connectivity and sustainability for our communities.
