MST Standard is a specialist service that is an important part of Newcastle’s Edge of Care Services, the team is well established and works alongside another MST team in Newcastle.

This is an exciting time to work in children’s services in Newcastle. Through our innovative work as part of the DFE’s Strengthening Families Protecting Children programme, we are implementing the Family Valued approach across our service and city to transform how we work with children, families and partners. Family Valued is a relational and restorative approach to services, focusing on strengths and values.

MST will play an important role in these changes through the intensive work they complete with families with some of the most complex issues. We are looking to recruit an MST Therapist to join our successful MST Standard team in Newcastle.

Requirements / Qualifications
  • You will ideally have a post-graduate qualification in psychology, social work, counselling or an equivalent professional qualification from a relevant field of child/adolescent or adult/parenting practice.
  • Experience and knowledge in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Family Therapy and/or pragmatic behavioural interventions would be preferred although full training in the MST model will be provided.
  • Therapists receive weekly group supervision from the manager and consultation from MST Services.
