Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled Stonemason to join our specialist heritage and high-end construction teams across Newcastle. We are partnering with conservation experts and premium developers who require master craftsmanship for the restoration of historic landmarks and the creation of bespoke stone structures. If you are a Mason who takes pride in traditional techniques and has the precision to work on Grade I and II listed buildings or luxury masonry projects, we have immediate starts and long-term runs of work available now.

• Shaping & Dressing:
  Cutting and shaping stone blocks by hand or with specialised power tools to exact specifications.
• Heritage Restoration:
  Carrying out delicate repair and conservation work on historic stone facades, monuments, and ecclesiastical buildings.
• Stone Setting:
  Expertly fitting and bedding stone components, including ashlar walling, lintels, mullions, and decorative carvings.
• Mortar Work:
  Mixing and applying traditional lime mortars for repointing and bedding, ensuring compatibility with historic substrates.
• Technical Accuracy:
  Reading detailed architectural drawings and templates to produce complex stonework with minimal tolerances.
• High‑End Finishes:
  Delivering flawless masonry for luxury residential projects, including stone staircases, fireplaces, and ornamental features.

• CSCS Card: A valid Blue or Gold card is mandatory (Heritage Skills card highly desirable).
• Experience:
  
  Proven track record in stone masonry, particularly within restoration, conservation, or high‑end new builds.
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficiency with hand tools (mallets, chisels) and stone‑cutting machinery. Knowledge of stone types and their specific properties.
• Attention to Detail:
  An artistic eye and a commitment to preserving the integrity of historic architecture.
• Tools & PPE:
  Full professional stone masonry kit and standard 5‑point PPE.
• Right to Work:
  Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
