Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position to work on cutting-edge research exploring new aspects of the economics of cities , using advanced quantitative models and datasets from Denmark and other countries. The role will be under the supervision of Professor Daniel Sturm, Dr. Sara Bagagli, and Dr. Giorgio Pietrabissa .

This opportunity is ideal for candidates planning to pursue a PhD in Economics or related fields , and who wish to gain strong, hands-on research experience.

Role: Research Assistant Field: Economics / Quantitative Research Location: United Kingdom (some flexibility for in-office presence if already UK-based)
Start Date: Summer or Early Autumn 2026 (flexible)

• Undergraduate or Master’s degree in Economics or a related quantitative discipline (to be completed by start date).
• Strong interest in economic research and quantitative analysis.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment.
• Advanced experience with STATA and R for analysing large-scale microdata.
• Ability to learn new programming tools efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data work.
• Ability to analyse data patterns and think analytically about economic problems.

• Candidates must have the right to work in the UK or be eligible for visa sponsorship.
