Quality Control Inspector

Our client are an engineering manufacturer in the North East is looking to appoint an experienced Quality Control Inspector to join their growing team.
This is a hands-on role within a busy fabrication and manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and industry compliance requirements.
You will play a key part in maintaining quality standards across the production lifecycle, working closely with shopfloor teams, management, suppliers and client representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct and record inspections on incoming materials, in-process work and final products
Perform internal QMS and product-specific audits
Coordinate inspections with customers and third-party inspectors
Review and issue work instructions to meet contract and internal standards
Raise and manage NCRs, concessions and material certification documentation
Lead and support Root Cause Analysis investigations into quality issues and warranty claims
Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain and monitor the Quality Management System (ISO 9001 environment)
Manage the calibration system, including internal and external calibration coordination
Compile quality data dossiers and support KPI reporting
Liaise directly with suppliers and customer representatives on quality matters
Promote safe working practices and challenge unsafe behaviours
Essential:
Experience with in a fabrication or heavy manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of engineering drawings and technical documentation
Experience managing NCRs, inspections, and quality documentation
Knowledge of ISO 9001 and industry standards such as ASME
Confident communicator able to liaise with customers and suppliers
Strong planning and organisational skills
Desirable:
CSWIP 3.1 (CSWIP 3.0 considered)
PCN Level II (MPI & DPI) or equivalent NDT certification
Engineering apprenticeship or similar qualification
