Hours:
1 x 11 hours per week including weekends. Shift patterns may vary. This role may require drop-in sessions twice daily during the week (30 minutes morning/evening). 1 x Bank staff to cover absence and holidays. Rate: £14.50 per hour. Area:
Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Our client is currently looking for an experienced female personal assistant to assist her within the home and out in the community.
Responsibilities- Assist/prompt and complete domestic tasks including laundry and bed changing, and light duties such as hoovering and general cleaning.
- Assist with simple meal preparation or prepare a meal for Judith if required.
- Prompt Judith to take her daily medication.
- Support and assist Judith with showering, hair washing and other personal care where required.
- Attend and accompany Judith to medical appointments or other scheduled appointments; may assist in booking appointments/events.
- Book/arrange taxis adequate to accommodate a mobility scooter and use public transport on occasion if required.
- Experience as a personal assistant or in a similar caregiving role preferred.
- Must have a good level of fitness to assist with mobility scooter use and manoeuvring in and out of a vehicle.
- Able to engage with Judith and her family; a friendly, sociable disposition is beneficial.
- Good communication and reliability; able to work as part of a family dynamic.
Judith enjoys activities such as visiting the local High Street, shopping outlets, coffee stops, trips to the beach or zoos, cinema or playhouse visits, Tai Chi and chair yoga. She also enjoys staying at home to watch TV or soaps and Gordon Ramsay programs.
There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be male/female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
