Working collaboratively as an integral component of the multidisciplinary Primary Care Team. Staff benefit from a structured in-service training programme, supplemented by access to regional and national professional development events. Team members are supported with a clinical mentorship and supervision program, with an annual performance appraisal focused on your professional development.

The vacant post is full time working 37.5 hours per week. Requests to work flexibly and/or part time will be considered, taking into account business needs.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the provision of a comprehensive and professional physiotherapy/rehabilitation service for entitled personnel. This includes undertaking highly skilled and specialist work in the musculo-skeletal/sports and training injury areas.

Job responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities for the role include but are not limited to:

  • To perform highly skilled physio therapeutic assessment of patients referred by Consultants, General Practitioners and other Healthcare Professionals with diverse presentations and complex and acute/chronic physical conditions and sports injuries. To use clinical reasoning skills to provide an accurate clinical diagnosis.
  • To have effective communication with all other rehabilitation and Unit personnel and with external medical personnel from other agencies/units.
  • Development and maintenance of your own personal, Service and Professional Standards at the highest attainable levels through continuing professional development activities and maintenance of a portfolio.
  • To formulate, develop and deliver a specialised individualised treatment programme based upon evidence based practice, manual assessment and appropriate clinical reasoning.
