Responsibilities

The Workshop Manager will oversee the daily operations of the workshop, coordinating production schedules to ensure timely delivery as well as ensuring product quality. Primary responsibilities include leading & motivating the production team, ensuring all equipment is maintained alongside compliance with safety regulations. The Workshop Manager will also strive to improve operational efficiency and support the development of innovative manufacturing processes.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Tarporley, Cheshire, UK.

Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in workshop management, production planning, and small team supervision
  • Experience working within structured production systems (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or similar)
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience in mechanical assembly, basic electrical wiring and termination, plus welding/basic fabrication
  • Qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related fields is preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of machinery maintenance and manufacturing processes
  • Able to work to recognised QC standards (e.g. ISO 9001 principles or equivalent structured QA stems)
  • Ability to develop and implement health, safety, and compliance standards, fostering a strong safety culture within the workshop
  • Experience in the equestrian industry or technical simulation fields is an advantage
  • Proficiency in using workshop management tools and software
